From the first time I met Brian - which was at Benfleet Yacht Club when I inadvertently stepped on the freshly painted deck of his boat - my admiration, respect and affection for him grew. Through sailing days, his courting of Diane and their lifelong relationship, Brian was unfailingly kind, thoughtful and considerate- he was a true Gentleman in every aspect of the word. Diane couldn’t have had a more caring or more suited partner for her life journey. His faith in me and my abilities when the Camp Site was being established was testament to to the respect he held the family in, and Joan and I were privileged to share those years with Brian and Diane. It must have been a bitter realisation for him when his health curtailed their travels, but his mind still retained that keen interest and inquiry into world events. Rest Well Brian - Arthur Norris
